A driver was stuck in a traffic jam on the beltway outside Washington DC.  Nothing had moved for 30 minutes.  Suddenly, a man walks up and taps on his window. The driver rolls it down and asks, "What's going on?" "Terrorists have kidnapped Congress, and they're asking for a $100 million...

Last week I had an Accountant (CPA) come into my office with her husband who happened to be a banker. She had requested the meeting because she needed “a good person to refer her clients to for investment and insurance needs.” What she was really looking for was aneasy way to make m...

  • This is a tough question but one that needs to be addressed. All you have to do is search this topic and just read the one liner’s that pop up. Things like “the world is doomed” and “total chaos” will come up almost immediately. The sad thing is that for most citizens t...

  • This 1921 essay/obituary of Mary White, written by her father, was required reading when I was in school.  It wasn't only for the grammar and writing style, but for the topic as well.  It was a unique look at the life of a young girl so many years ago.  I'm glad I had the chance to re...

A Plea to my Christian Brothers and Sisters

  • First off, I know the title for this blog may seem contradictory due to my own beliefs, but we are all Americans and thus I hold every American as my brother and sister, regardless of their faith, in arms against the encroaching Sharia law and inevitable attempt at tyranny the Obama Admin.

Second, the Jewish and Christian communities are a powerful force that need to be united against what is on the horizon instead of simply being fractured due to their individual beliefs.  Whether anyone likes it or not, Glenn Beck is a voice of reason that can not simply be reckoned with.  I too was once a person who regarded Glenn Beck as a quack, but then I read his book the Overton Window which led to my curiousity of his politics and ideas.  I started watching his show and became enamored with his ideas and predictions.  I realized the error of my ways and became a fan of Glenn Beck.  However, I never once let his religious views get in the way of me comprehending what he was saying.

Whether we find each others religious beliefs (or non-religious beliefs) to be abhorrent pales in comparison to the threat of tyranny that threatens each of us regardless of our beliefs. We all lose if tyranny wins.

I love you all and only wish to see unity against tyranny.  If and when this threat is pushed down and kept there, then perhaps a dialogue of whose beliefs are right can be opened.

    Brightest Blessings to you all.

Clive Foster AMEN! My BROTHER! You have summed up what I've been trying to get at all morning! Cooperating in the face of a common threat to common values, is NOT the same as a carte blanche acceptance of someone else's entire creed!

Mary Hartzler Eric, I agree with one caveat...and that is that we band together KNOWING we don't agree and agreeing to disagree, that one group doesn't try to convert the others. There are times in which we must work to evangelize our faiths, but in the political real...  more

Isma'ila Singley You make some good points. How can we share our beliefs with each other if we are not united? This is a good post. Jesus bless you.

Jonathan Cousar Eric, good post. The people you see here talking about Glenn Beck and his Mormonism (including myself), generally do agree with him politically - on most things. And I do think and have said many times I think he's doing a world of good in the political...  more

Jonathan Cousar Oh and one thing Christians and non-Christians would disagree on is when you said that what we believe religiously pales in comparison to the threat of tyranny. A lot of us actually believe it's the exact opposite! That tyranny pales in comparison to mi...  more
