The Mexican government finally acknowledged on Wednesday that two CIA agents were the Americans wounded in a shooting by Mexican federal police. The initial silence from both governments highlights the growing role of US involvement inside Mexico. A Columbia University professor even speculated that the US could be running a large scale intelligence operation that rivals the war in Afghanistan.
