I remember one of my last attempts to reason with the progressive liberal friends I grew up with. Before I made a conscious decision to extricate myself from the sordid swamp of facebook babble, I was designated as an Islamaphobe/bigot for protesting a mosque at Ground Zero by Cathy V. who described...

The supreme function of statesmanship is to provide against preventable evils. In seeking to do so, it encounters obstacles which are deeply rooted in human nature. One is that by the very order of things such evils are not demonstrable until they have occurred: at each stage in their onset...

With Memorial Day approaching Americans should be preparing to honor our veterans and military heroes currently fighting for us as well as remembering those we have lost. This honor should be especially due from our own government that has sent these brave men and women off to war. Unfortunately, th...

Excerpts from Obama's Speech Tonight

  • I've just received the following excerpt from Obama's upcoming convention speech tonight.  As short as it is - it is packed with LIES!  Lies that I can't help but repsonding to in red text:

“But when all is said and done – when you pick up that ballot to vote – you will face the clearest choice of any time in a generation. Over the next few years, big decisions will be made in Washington, on jobs and the economy; taxes and deficits; energy and education; war and peace – decisions that will have a huge impact on our lives and our children’s lives for decades to come.

On every issue, the choice you face won’t be just between two candidates or two parties.  It will be a choice between two different paths for America.  A choice between two fundamentally different visions for the future.  (That's for sure - and to see the other side, please watch this video from Allen West)!

I won’t pretend the path I’m offering is quick or easy. I never have. (You made us believe in 2008 that you could fix everything in your first term.  You said in 2009 if the economy wasn't back up to full speed in 3 years, that you SHOULDN’T be re-elected).

(Now he channels Chris Christie):  You didn’t elect me to tell you what you wanted to hear. You elected me to tell you the truth. And the truth is, it will take more than a few years for us to solve challenges that have built up over decades. (NOW you tell us!?)

It will require common effort, shared responsibility, (We're not interested in your Marxist talk of SHARED responsibility!  Let each man take care of himself - the way we did when we built this country into the greatest most prosperous nation on earth).
and the kind of bold, persistent experimentation that Franklin Roosevelt pursued during the only crisis worse than this one.

(NO!  STOP REPEATING THIS LIE!  This is not the worst recession since the Great Depression.  Of course it makes your failure look a little better to compare it to the worst one in history.  But it in fact is not half as bad as he Carter recession of the late 70s.  You know, the one Ronald Reagan was able to fix in just 3 short years?

We're getting sick of you trying to hide your failure with the excuse that this recession has been the WORST recession in history.  But of course you can't compare it to the Carter recession (which was much worse) because Reagan was able to stop that recession in just three years.  The Reagan Recovery recovery was well underway at this point in his first term.  You sir are a FAILURE!  And experimenting with the failed policies of FDR isn't going to change that - it'll just make it worse).

And by the way – those of us who carry on his party’s legacy should remember that not every problem can be remedied with another government program or dictate from Washington.  (You just now figured that out?  So, how is government going to run healthcare)?

But know this, America: Our problems can be solved. Our challenges can be met. The path we offer may be harder, but it leads to a better place.   (Hmmm... that sounds so familiar.  I think that's the common refrain of COMMUNISTS after their first few failed years in power.  Why didn't you tell us this in 2008?  You made us believe everything would be bliss and peace if we only voted for you... now you tell us you can't do it?  You're telling millions of government dependents that they now have to take the hard path!?  That's not gonna sit well with them)!

And I’m asking you to choose that future.
(You're asking us to choose a future taking the hard path of failed policies.  I don't think so.  If you keep doing the same thing and it doesn't work... you'd be an idiot to try it again, right.  The future I choose is a future where YOU are unemployed after November)!

    I’m asking you to rally around a set of goals for your country – goals in manufacturing, energy, education, national security, and the deficit;

(Wait!  I thought you said government dictates don't work.  Now you want the government to set goals for all industry sectors? Sounds a lot like the Soviet 5-year-plans to me)!

a real, achievable plan that will lead to new jobs, more opportunity, and rebuild this economy on a stronger foundation. That’s what we can do in the next four years, and that’s why I’m running for a second term as President of the United States.”

(So the government is going to set the plan, set the goals, mandate what each industry has to do?  But you just told us government can't dictate a better economy!  Plus, you told us last time you could do all this in the first four years!  Now you need eight!?  I don't think so.)

GET OUT OF OUR WHITE HOUSE NOW!!!

    President Obama’s Goals for America

Tonight President Obama will ask the country to rally around a set of goals on manufacturing, energy, education, national security, and the deficit – a real, achievable plan that will create jobs, expand opportunity, and ensure an economy built to last.

    Manufacturing
    · Create one million new manufacturing jobs by the end of 2016
    · Double exports by the end of 2014

    Energy
    · Cut net oil imports in half by 2020
    · Support 600,000 natural gas jobs by the end of the decade

    Education
    · Cut the growth of college tuition in half over the next 10 years
    · Recruit 100,000 math and science teachers over the next 10 years
    · Train two million workers for real jobs at community colleges

    National Security
    · Invest in the economy with the money we’re no longer spending on war

    Deficit
    · Reduce the deficit by more than $4 trillion over the next decade
