Yesterday in New York state many school boards put forth their budgets for vote. In an unpresidented turnout an overwhelming number of budgets were flat out rejected. No less than nine in the immediate Albany area. Some of the budgets proposed moderate tax increases, and some as much as 25%.
With the state itself in deadlock over a budget that is fifty days late is this an indication that the people are simply tired of the tax and spend buracracies? I think our state legislators should take a real hard look at the way they have behaved and start doing their jobs. Many of them will get the same "hell no" as these over bloated school budgets got. And in many greater numbers.
The people of upstate NY are tired of carrying the water for inept political appointees, and corrupt burocracies that handle their tax dollars like it were in never ending supply.
This is where true political change has to start. From the bottom up. From a well placed message to the school boards to the election of fiscaly conservative state representatives, and governors, and right up to our representatives in Washington.
Kirstin Gillibrand take notice. We are tired of your Schumer brand of politics. Don't get used to that cushy seat in the senate chambers.
