I want to see that fire in her belly. Intead of sissys like Stephanopolous handling her, she should be handling them. If she can bring it they will come.

I agree, Chris. I like Bachmann as a person, but I have my doubts that she can stand up to Obama and all the "powers that be" behind him. I worry that they'll bash her like they did Palin and IMO, she's just not media-savvy enough to fight back.

And while I agreed with everything she said, she just didn't excite me in saying it. She rattled off a bunch of mind-numbing numbers and details of governing that really make people's eyes glaze over. Reagan used to always have insightful and humorous quips that got the same points across but in a way that made people really pay attention. And in a way that really made people understand why it was all bad. I wish she could learn to do the same thing! less

But when we see guys like Romney and that ultra-leftist John Huntsman not showing any anger at all... it sends a loud and clear signal that they really don't get it. I know Bachmann gets it though but for whatever reason she thinks she can't show the anger.

I know why everyone wants to see West run, but he's made it clear that he'll only run as VP. Otherwise, I would definitely vote for him. My second choice (who I actually voted for as 1st choice) is Bachmann.

Palin, Bachmann, Malkin, Coulter, Ingram, and any one of the beauties that Hannity puts on the great american panel......On and on. Then there's Clinton, Waters, O'Donell, Pelosi, Boxer, Maddow (who isn't that bad except for the haircut and open mouth) and so on.

I think Bachmann's doing the best she can under the circumstances, but she needs to do more than (as Jonathan said) rattle off a bunch of stats. She needs to show dazzling intelligence, a rapier wit and be ready with the right answers for any question that might be thrown at her, even if it's just "Excuse me, could you repeat that?" I just don't like how she's answering questions while on TV, and she gets tripped up almost every time. I KNOW it's hard - the same thing happened to me during a radio interview that I thought was going to be softball questions about my business. But, if you don't understand a question, buy time to digest it by asking to repeat the question or ask them to clarify it. I think if she can get a handle on this (as Palin seems to have in recent months), she'll become a real force in the race for the nomination. less
