Rick Santorum stated recently, if elected, he would enforce anti-obscenity laws and in effect make pornography a crime. What are your thoughts on this?

I don't like the choices above. Pornography is a part of the reason our Nation is in crisis. I say this is a good step in turning our Nation back to God.

I'm totally against porn, it debases and objectifies women and warps the minds of young kids who see it on the web, thinking that "this" is the way women are supposed to be, rather than thinking/feeling human beings. I agree with Santorum on this.

Rita I too don't like either choice. Since it's been around since man could draw, the only choices are to view or not view. In a free country those should always be the choices. If it isn't against the law the choices are to do or not.

Jill I agree with you wholeheartedly and that is what I taught my son.
Eric LundrbeckI agree with Jills reasonings, but if we outlaw it and use big government to enforce pious laws, then we are on the road to becoming like Iran and the Taliban. Also, no one forces these women to get into the porn industry and second, no one forces people to look at porn. Going with Santorums ridiculous idea is a slippery slope that I wish not to see. Keep your children away from porn, be a parent. Don't make the government be the substitute for what YOU the parent should be doing.

There are a lot of things that are legal in this country that I don't agree with, but that doesn't mean I want them outlawed. Censorship of any kind opens the door to censorship of every kind. In a free society there is always an on/off switch or channel changer. If it offends you don't do it.

Agreed 100%, Rich. Not much I can really add to that.

Censorship, whether it is good or bad, wrong or right, is still censorship. That censorship should be an individual and personal priority, and should never be on any government mandate or law.

Santorum needs to focus on jobs, economy, foreign policy and national security. Porn is not for me and I think it can be harmful, but it's still free speech and not the President's job to get involved.
