Posted by Jon McKeone

In this video Tim discusses the massive differences in the belief system of the Mormons, who follow the teachings of Joseph Smith, compared to the Christians, who follow the teachings of Christ from the Bible.

Glen Davis Some interesting stuff I did not know about Mormon. Much I did. I know that Smith was an alcoholic and the supposedly plates were never seen except for family members. Unfortunately we have other supposed Christian groups that change the word. Such as rap...  more

Jon McKeone While the term rapture per se does not exist the concept is foreshadowed via the flood and the supernatural protection of the Israelites during their time in Egypt when the plagues were poured out on the godless. Curiously the judgments of Revelation mirr...  more

Glen Davis Your comments are interesting and you brought out some new points. We are "as in the days of Noah," certainly. With sexual immorality and sacrificing of babies to Baal. Of course we could go back and forth. I know it will get worse, I have no do...  more

Jon McKeone A doctrine one taught know as the doctrine of imminence and which was clearly believed by the early believers was that Christ could return at any moment. This kind of takes the wind out of the sails of some modern amateur eschatologists who think certain ...  more

Glen Davis I think we agree 100% on that. You have a good knowledge of the Bible. I recently lost my friend and mentor on the Bible, but I still read and study, of course. I do trust that God has a plan and whatever part he asks of me, I try to stay open to know and...  more

Jonathan Cousar This kills me, I just got a stern message from a Mormon facebook friend about this video.

He said this: "Hey, I don't like this post. Please remove it."

Please remove it!? Because he doesn't like it!? That's his response? Why not jus...  more

Michael Scott The parallels between Islam and Mormonism are quite striking. Both are poorly written attempts to claim "new revelation." Both were received from "an angel" speaking to a guy by himself (Joey Smith's case - a forest. Muhammed's case - ...  more

Jon McKeone Not to mention the book of mormon, supposedly translated from golden tablets buried around the first millenia, curiously contains large sections which are word for word passages from the King James Bible.

Jonathan, I get the same kind of reaction I post ...  more

Michael Scott I am firmly convinced that a love of truth (not dogma) is one of the marks of a true follower of Christ. There's gonna be a lot of surprised people come Judgment Day.

Jonathan Cousar Michael, you said something I've been noticing for a while - there are many similarities between Mormonism and Islam. First and foremost being that both attempt to "copy" the Bible with changes and both claim their latter day "revelation&q...  more

Jon McKeone Michael, believing is all well and good but if we don't evidence our belief by practicing the things we profess to believe then we are little better than Pharisees

Glen Davis Tim Conway is supposed to have a First Amendment right to speak; not to mention the fact that he is correct in what he says. This is what happens when people attend public school where they are not taught the Constitution. Perhaps they should read a noned...  more

Michael Scott Jon M: I couldn't agree more. I think rigid dogmatism and an obstinate refusal to examine how I live my life tend to go hand in hand.

Jon C: Mormons are smart people, but there's a stupidity there, too. I won't call it ignorance. Stupidity I define as ha...  more

Michael Scott Glen: If the Mormons would simply be rigorous about their religion, they'd see the glaring flaws in it. My favorite is Ether 15:31, where the headless Shiz gasps for breath before dying. Say what?!

Glen Davis The problem is that kids today want information to be fed to them instead of having to work to investigate for themselves. That is what the progressives (read that Communists) of schools depend on. If you try to go against what is taught you are often tim...  more
